Here one of the dance set's from Elizabeth & Thomas Russo's wedding on Sunday April 7, 2013. As you can see I go back and forth from oldies to top 40 at the start of the set. I mixed one disco record which is "ring my bell" and one classic 90's record which is "push it" by Salt & Pepper". I strive to make everyone happy and keep all ages on the dance floor. It's not always going to happen, but you just have to read the crowd and ready to move on to next record if one doesn't work.
After playing a few top 40 tracks in a roll. The crowd was ready to pick up the pace with some hip hop and reggae. I used the daft punk "one more time" to transition into Justin Timberlake's "suit and tie". I didn't play Jay Z verse, I honestly don't care for his part on this song. Next we move on to the late great Notrious B.I.G. , everyone love biggie, Right? I played a few classic reggae records which had this young hip crowd really moving. I don't have many pictures from the event but click the link above to see more.
